English Premier League
Schedule
Date: 20 August, 2011
Time: 11.45 GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium, England
Key Battle: Carl Jenkinson v Luis Suarez. Finland Under-21 defender Jenkinson was given a baptism of fire when he came on for the injured Kieran Gibbs against Udinese but, charged with protecting his side's one-goal advantage, he produced a competent display at left-back. His Premier League bow can be expected to be similarly challenging, with 2011 Copa America MVP Luis Suarez likely to be probing him down Liverpool's right. Aside from his ballooned penalty, the Uruguay striker looked sharp against Sunderland and opened his account with a well-taken header. Jenkinson certainly has the pace to deal with Suarez but it remains to be seen if the teenager- who only made his debut for League One side Charlton Athletic eight months ago - will be able to nullify the threat of the world's most feared forwards.
Prediction: With injury problems mounting already and a crucial Champions League second leg ahead, Arsenal will be there for the taking. Liverpool's expensively assembled team should have what it takes to see off a disjointed Gunners side and claim a valuable first win.
