Key Battle - Benedikt Howedes v Javier Hernandez - Schalke's young, German defender has been capped at all levels from Under-18 through to U-21 and won the UEFA European U-21 Football Championship in 2009. But the highly-rated 23-year-old will have to be at his best to nullify the threat of Hernandez, who has forced his way into the United team ahead of schedule and has struck up a deadly strike partnership with Wayne Rooney. The Mexican's movement off the ball means his is invariably in space when the final pass arrives and the 22-year-old, who has netted 12 goals in 24 Premier League games, scored both goals in the 2-1 home win over Marseille in the Champions League last-16.
